Healthy Start is a federally funded program whose mandate is
to encourage healthy pregnancies, improve birth outcomes,
and reduce the infant mortality rate. There are many Healthy
Start programs throughout the country; each one is a little
different, but they all have the same mission: to reach out to
pregnant woman and provide services to encourage healthy
birth outcomes and healthy families.
Our Commitment
Our project is committed to addressing the racial and ethnic
disparities in perinatal care by offering education, counseling,
and support through home visitation to families, and by
developing strong collaborations with community health care
and social service providers. Our Healthy Start staff are
ethnically and linguistically diverse, and come to our project
with much experience and dedication to our community.
