Our Sister Program, Healthy Families DC is another home visiting program based at Mary's Center. It is not the same as the health insurance program called DC Healthy Families. Healthy Families DC is a well respected home visiting program for 1st time mothers. Their goal is to ensure that children are healthy, safe and ready for school through home visitation, long-term partnering with families and linkages with community resources. Through the Healthy Families program, families can receive 3 to 5 years of intensive home visiting services. Both Healthy Start and Healthy Families are family focused. Both programs are completely voluntary and use the same screening and assessment process for referral for services.
